The Reception and Integration Agency Continues Training on the “MindSpring” Method

The second training session on the “MindSpring” method took place on September 7–10, aimed at preparing trainers and trainer assistants who will work with parents with refugee backgrounds in the future.

“MindSpring” for parents and caregivers is a series of group sessions designed for parents and caregivers who have moved to another country due to war, persecution or other reasons. During these sessions, participants share their experiences, discuss the challenges of parenting and life in a new country, learn to better understand their feelings, overcome difficulties and support one another. The sessions are led by a specially trained facilitator with similar life experiences, together with a professional.

Ten participants took part in the training: seven foreign women with experience of migration or forced displacement (refugee status) and three specialists. The training on the “MindSpring” method was led by Mažena Vonsovič and Karina Seifulinaitė, psychologists at the Reception and Integration Agency.

The Reception and Integration Agency is implementing the project “Improvement and Expansion of Programs to Enhance Psychological Resilience and Sociocultural Knowledge,” aimed at strengthening the integration of third-country nationals and stateless persons in Lithuania by improving the competencies of the specialists who work with them. The project’s activities are co-financed by the European Union’s Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund (AMIF).
