Foreign communities are invited to participate in the World Refugee Day event in Rukla
The Reception and Integration Agency organizes the celebration of World Refugee Day, which has become a long-standing tradition. The event will take place on June 17, 2026, at the Rukla Reception Centre (18 Karaliaus Mindaugo St., LT-55285 Rukla).
The aim of this event is to draw attention to the situation of refugees in Lithuania and around the world, strengthen inter-institutional cooperation, promote public engagement and cultural dialogue. The event includes an artistic and cultural program, tastings of dishes and teas from various countries of the world, sports activities, creative workshops and interactive educational activities that highlight the exceptional work of the Lithuanian genius M. K. Čiurlionis.
Communities of foreigners, asylum seekers and foreigners granted asylum living independently in municipalities, are invited to participate in the World Refugee Day event which will be held at the Rukla Reception Centre.
Event program (outdoors):
11:00-11:10 – Welcome speech. Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Social Security and Labour of the Republic of Lithuania, Deimantė Bukeikaitė
11:10-11:20 – Welcome speech. Director of the Reception and Integration Agency, Gediminas Pocius
11:20-11:30 – Welcome speech. Representative of the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) for relations with the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, Renata Kuleš
11:30-12:00 – Mosaic of flavors: pilaf tasting
11:30-13:00 – Ukrainian borscht tasting
11:30-15:00 – Foreign teas and sweets tasting
11:30-14:00 – Sweet cotton candy and popcorn
12:00-12:30 – Musical performance by Kazimieras Likša
12:30-13:00 – Musical performance by Mexican artist Daniel Rios
Educational and interactive entertainment area:
9:30-11:00 – Youth football match with a professional coach
10:30-14:00 – Soap making workshop
13:00-16:30 – Exotic rhythms with African drums
13:00-16:00 – Educational virtual reality experience "Trail of Angels". Detailed session times:

- Session 4 – 14:30-15:00
- Session 5 – 15:00-15:30 (will take place if a group of 30 people registers for the session)

* Parents are responsible for the safety of their children during the celebration.
