Cash Benefits

From 1 January 2025, asylum seekers living in a place of their choice in Lithuania are entitled to receive allowances of 10 and 60 percent of the state-supported income (hereinafter referred to as the SSI) for minor expenses and food, if catering services are not provided.

The amount of the SSI varies each year and in 2026 it reach EUR 233.00, so asylum seekers living in their chosen location can receive monthly cash benefits of EUR 23.30 Eur and EUR139.80, respectively. Total: EUR 163.10.

Cash benefits are paid monthly between the 15th and 20th of the month, either in cash or by bank transfer to a Lithuanian bank account. A benefit equal to 10% of the SSI is paid for the previous month, and a benefit equal to 60% of the SSI is paid for the current month. Benefits are awarded from the date of application.

Applications for allowances (for minor expenses and foodare accepted based on the person's place of residence. After scheduling an appointment with the relevant Agency staff member, the application can be submitted upon arrival at the Vilnius or Rukla Reception Centre and filled out on the spot.
